Polly Grant, MA, DEdPsy (AMFT 138370)
Polly Grant is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist providing psychotherapy to clients across the lifespan, from young children to older adults, as well as couples and families. She earned a master’s degree in clinical psychology from Antioch University Los Angeles and a doctorate in educational and child psychology from University College London. Â
Polly completed her clinical training at Valley Community Counseling Center where she was trained in psychodynamic therapy. There, she employed a creative and compassionate approach to address a range of client concerns including depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, relationship issues, family conflict, stress and life transitions. Â
Prior to her career in psychotherapy, she worked in private and public schools in Los Angeles and London in roles which included educational psychologist, school psychologist, learning specialist, and school counselor. She undertook comprehensive assessments and applied evidence-based interventions to support the educational and mental health needs of children and adolescents. Â Â

Polly’s primary modality of working is in the psychodynamic tradition. She also employs cognitive behavioral therapy in addition to narrative and solution-focused approaches, as appropriate.
Her doctoral thesis focused on the use of play in school settings to support the cognitive, physical, social and emotional development of children. Her therapeutic approach reflects her belief in the value of play in discovering that which is true and authentic.
